Sis. Deborah Benard
Deborah Benard has served and supported Westside ministries by caring for Westside families for several decades. Since becoming a member in January 2000, she has severed as a Koinonia Kids group leader for first grade students and provided administrative support for several Children and Youth Ministries. In 2005, Deborah joined the Westside staff providing administrative support for the WBC Summer Camp and Westside Christian Academy (WCA). At WCA, Deborah took on additional duties of preschool teacher as well as school cook. In 2009, Deborah accepted the position of Westside Childcare Coordinator managing volunteers and staff while caring for infant to twelve-year-old children during Westside’s regular weekly services and special events. Deborah also served on the Policy and Procedures Committee and Westside Steering Committee. In September 2022, Deborah accepted the position of Ministry Support Manager to use her God given talents and abilities to enhance, improve and support ministry efforts in all areas at Westside.
Deborah is a native of St. Louis, Missouri where she attended Saint Louis University graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematical Computer Science. She has a professional background in information technology services, network design, business process improvement and personnel management. She credits her passion for the Lord and service to the example set by her mother who served as a preschool Sunday School teacher and her father who served as a deacon at Washington Tabernacle Baptist Church.
Deborah is married and has four adult children. She enjoys gardening, the arts, solving puzzles, mysteries, and spending time with family.
