About WBC’s Women’s Ministry Charity Spotlight

Each year the Women In Pursuit of God Women’s Ministry of Westside Baptist Church (WBC) chooses a special charity to support. This year, we’re highlighting The Sisters Network Dallas 6000 Sisters, 6000 Steps for Hope Breast Cancer Walk and the Texas Giving Hope & Help Foundation. Thank you in advance for your support!

The Sisters Network Dallas : 6000 Sisters, 6000 Steps for Hope

The 6000 Sisters, 6000 Steps for Hope, Breast Cancer Walk and Health Expo, “It’s not just Pink it’s personal” spotlights the 6,000 African American women who lose their fight with breast cancer in the United States each year.  This event is a celebration of life for friends and family who are breast cancer survivors, an opportunity to remember loved ones lost to breast cancer, a chance to enjoy a fun healthy 3 mile walk (approx. 6000 steps), and an opportunity to visit with healthcare and healthy living exhibitors.

Charitable Drive for the Texas Giving - Hope & Help Foundation

October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, which first began in 1981 by the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence. Domestic violence affects millions, both women and men, of every race, religion, culture, and status. In support of domestic violence survivors and the shelters in which they live, Texas Giving Hope & Help Incorporated, (GH&H) sponsors yearly collections and drives for those in need of feminine hygiene products both locally and across the globe. As women of Westside Baptist Church, let’s show our support of domestic violence survivors and  TGH&H’s feminine hygiene product drive.

With your help, we can meet our goal of providing FEMININE HYGIENE PRODUCTS to the Texas Giving – Hope and Help foundation (TGH&H), supporting victims of domestic violence women in need. Please bring your feminine hygiene product(s) donation and drop them in the collection bins when you check in for the conference.

Items Needed:

  1. Sanitary napkins and Tampons- any brand and size
  2. Women’s packaged underwear size 5- 4XL

If you or someone that you know is a victim of domestic violence, please contact The National Domestic Violence Hotline at 800-799-SAFE (7233) or visit www.givinghopeandhelp.org.

Always remember – God loves you!! Scripture tells us in Romans 8:37-39, “Yet, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.  For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (NKJV).
